A Special Visit to the State House

State House

Seventh grade students at Bloom-Carroll Middle School had the privilege this month of meeting Governor DeWine during their field trip to the State House.

Governor DeWine took a moment to greet our students and share interesting facts about the State House, including the fact that the desk in the group photo is the actual desk where Abraham Lincoln was sitting when he found out he had won the presidency. What a memorable moment for our students!

Students continued their tour of the State House with lessons in governance, law, engineering, art, literature, and architecture. Students learned how ancient Greek and Roman civilizations have influenced modern democracies.

A heartfelt thank you to Governor DeWine and his team for making this educational adventure so memorable.
