Welcome Back 2024-2025

The Bloom Carroll School District upholds a tradition of excellence both inside and outside the classroom. Our dedicated staff prioritizes the needs of our students, working diligently to provide each one with a quality educational experience that sets them on the path to success. Our district's performance on Ohio assessments for the 2023-2024 school year once again shows that our students have exceeded the state average in all tested subjects. Notably, our students and staff have met individual closing goals in all math and reading areas

During the past school year, the district has focused heavily on several key areas to enhance the quality of instruction in our classroom.  These areas include:
  • The Science of Reading:  We have adopted new reading curriculum and instructional methods based on the science research to improve literacy rates and ensure all students develop strong reading skills. All K-3 classroom teachers completed LETRS (Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling) training as part of our commitment to fostering strong literacy skills.

  • Technology Integration:  The district has invested in digital learning tools and technology infrastructure, ensuring students and teachers have access to necessary devices and software to support their learning.

  • Professional development: In addition to the LETRS training, staff members attended sessions on IEPs & 504s, CPR & AED training, and participated in a series of professional development focused on student safety and protective services.

As we look ahead to the 2024-2025 school year, we remain committed to enhancing our curriculum and instruction across all levels. This school year, our focus is on enhancing our educational practices and supporting our teachers' well-being. All K-12 teachers will be completing the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce’s Science of Reading course, equipping them with the latest strategies to improve literacy instruction. Additionally, we will prioritize teacher wellness through a series of professional development sessions designed to promote mental health, reduce stress, and foster work-life balance. These initiatives aim to create a supportive and effective teaching and learning experience for everyone.

As you can see, there are many exciting opportunities on the horizon, and we are looking forward to another exciting school year at Bloom Carroll Local Schools.

Have a great year!
