At Bloom-Carroll Local Schools, we are committed to helping every student succeed. Our district receives federal Title I funding to provide additional academic support in reading and math, especially for students who need extra help.

Title I is part of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) and is designed to improve academic outcomes in schools with higher percentages of students from low-income households. Funds are distributed based on federal census poverty data and used to provide:

• Small group and individualized instruction

• Intervention support from qualified staff

• Instructional materials and resources

• Staff professional development

• Family engagement opportunities

Schoolwide Title I Program: GradesK-8

Bloom-Carroll operates a schoolwide Title I program in grades K through 8. This means all students in these grades benefit from Title I-funded services—whether directly through instruction or more broadly through building-wide supports. A schoolwide model allows us to reach more students and promote academic growth across the building.

How It Works

Districts may operate Title I in one of two ways:

• Schoolwide – all students benefit; supports align to a building-wide improvement plan

• Targeted Assistance – only identified students receive services based on academic need

By using a schoolwide approach, our Title I services help ensure that every Bulldog is supported and challenged to grow both academically and personally.

Parents and families play a vital role in student success. We encourage involvement through:

• Annual Title I meetings

• School–parent compacts

• Access to information about your child’s teachers and progress
