Paw's Laws
Paw’s Laws originated from our school-wide PBIS system. PBIS stands for Positive Behavioral Intervention and Support. It is a broad range of systemic and individualized strategies for achieving important social and learning outcomes while preventing problem behavior. A key focus of PBIS is building responsive environments that “stack the deck” in favor of appropriate student behavior. Our goal at BCPS is to use our PBIS framework to teach and reinforce skills that will have a long term positive effect for students. Our PBIS team has worked to develop a school-wide plan to help all students meet our school behavioral expectations and provide a means to evaluate our procedures to make sure that they are working for our students. Students will learn about our expectations and the encouragement and consequence procedures that will be used. In our school, using the PBIS framework will help to create the best learning environment possible for our students by ensuring that they all learn how to be
safe, respectful, responsible and caring
members of our school community.
