BCLSD Superintendent Back to School Message
Back to School

The beginning of the 2019-2020 school year will be here soon and we hope that your family had a great summer!  We are excited for our students to return and we look forward to partnering with every family to continue our mission:

OUR STUDENTS • THEIR FUTURES • OUR FOCUS

Fulfilling our responsibility to our students takes talented professionals and families working together.  The work we do as educators and parents is the most important, challenging, yet rewarding responsibilities there is, and our students are counting on us partnering to inspire their greatness.

Once again, I am proud to share with you that preliminary student achievement data from the 18-19 school-year indicates our position as a leader in education in Fairfield County and throughout Ohio.  Our students are making academic gains and we must continue to “pull,” not “push,” each student to new heights.

In months of planning for the 2019-2020 school year, and beyond, we have continued to strategically invest in resources for our students, staff, and facilities in a fiscally conservative manner.  We remain committed to focusing on substance, not fads, such as providing a challenging and well-rounded curriculum foundation interspersed with enrichment and intervention opportunities. We believe strongly in the value of the arts, extra-curricular, and co-curricular programs to develop and inspire our students’ talents.  Additional safety measures have been taken in our effort to provide the safest learning environment possible. Equally important, we must remain committed to building positive and professional relationships for the benefit of each child.

We are also excited to share that construction has started - on time, and as previously communicated - on the new K-5 Bloom-Carroll Elementary School.  The building is scheduled to open to students in August of 2021. An official groundbreaking ceremony will take place later this fall once rough parking lots are established at the site.

As we begin the 2019-2020 school year, please take a few minutes to review our website for additional information and please contact us with additional questions.

Go Bulldogs!
