Right to Read Week 2022
Right to Read
Right to Read week was a big hit at Bloom-Carroll Elementary School! Students participated in a variety of fun-filled activities all designed to promote the joys of reading and to help instill a love for learning.

Teachers at Bloom-Carroll Elementary School organized grade-level challenges, planned special themes for each day of the week, and hosted special guest readers from the community, including Greenfield Township Fire Chief Brad Smith. Chief Smith read The Legend of Rock, Paper, Scissors to Mrs. Cooley's 5th grade classroom. Taking it one step further, Chief Smith challenged the class to a rock, paper, scissors challenge in which he tracked the competitors on a "March-Madness" style bracket sheet. The winner, Landon Cross, will get to visit the firehouse and take a ride on the fire truck with Chief Smith.

The festivities for the week wrapped up as students tracked the total number of minutes they read each day on the grade-level Read-o-Meter charts placed in the main hallway of the school.

The 2nd grade class won the K-2 challenge and 5th grade won the 3rd-5th grade challenge. Congratulations and great job by all!
