Fairfield County Sheriff's Department Promotes Online Safety
Online Safety
According to the Center for Cyber Safety and Education, 40 percent of kids in grades 4-8 reported that they connect and chat online with a stranger. The Fairfield County Sheriff's Department recently addressed the importance of online safety at a recent assembly for grades 6-8. Fairfield County's Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Genylynn Cosgrove, Detective Kelli Stats and Detective Jason Meadows recently addressed the student body at BCMS and addressed cyberbullying, protecting yourself online, and safety tips for teens. There was a student question and answer session at the end.
