The Bloom-Carroll FFA celebrated its many student accomplishments at the recently held State FFA Convention and the local Annual FFA Banquet. Graduates Grace and Grant Lach finished their year of service representing our school and the Ohio FFA as state FFA officers. They traveled thousands of miles around Ohio sharing the story of agriculture education and motivating members to reach their goals.
Ben Burns, also a graduate of Bloom-Carroll, placed 4th in the state for his efforts in Home and Community Development. Ben has volunteered hundreds of hours for the Ohio Wild Turkey Federation, the AGmazing Agricenter and the popular elementary camp, AGventure while being an FFA member.
Senior Kaci Bright received the State FFA Degree for her success in her supervised agriculture experience, community service and numerous FFA activities. Senior Gabby Gugliemotto finished first in the State Equine Management Competition out of nearly 600 contestants and led the Bloom-Carroll Equine Team to a second place finish in the state. The team earned a trip to the World Paint Horse Show in Ft. Worth, TX to represent Ohio this June. Freshman Abigail Lister competed in the State Agri-science Fair, placing first in her division. Her project moves on for national competition this summer.
In addition to the recognition at the state level, many students and community members were recognized at the Annual FFA Banquet help on Saturday, May 11th. Over 350 community members, staff and students were in attendance. The Star Award winners for the 2018-2019 school year were the following: 8th grader Tori Strayer, freshman Brayden Huffman, sophomore Mily Kruse; junior Jaelynn Botts, and senior Gabby Gugliemotto.
