We are excited to announce the hiring of Mr. Larry Herges as our next Athletic/Activities Director beginning with the 2023-2024 school year.
Mr. Herges is a dynamic and experienced athletic director with a strong record of achievement in motivating and engaging students. He possesses the knowledge, experience, character, communication and leadership skills necessary for this position. Mr. Herges currently serves as the Athletic Director for Taylor Middle & High Schools with the Three Rivers Local School District located in Cleves, Ohio, west of Cincinnati. His unique background and achievements include but are not limited to the following:
· Twenty-two (22) years of experience as an athletic director
· 2021-2022 SWOADA Athletic Director of the Year
· 2022 OIAAA Athletic Director of the Year
· Served on the OASSA State Safety Team
· Earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communications/Broadcasting with a minor in History from Mount Vernon Nazarene College.
· Earned a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Ohio University.
· Served as Director for the Victim Assistance Program with the Athens County Prosecutor’s Office
· Served as the Public Information Coordinator for Athens County Children Services
· Served as a Juvenile Probation Officer for the Athens County Juvenile Court
Larry’s proven track record includes the procurement of grant funds to improve programming and facilities through collaborative partnerships.
Larry and his wife, Kelly, have two sons – Nolan and Alex. His tenure will begin on July 17th. We are excited for Mr. Herges and his family to join the Bulldog Community.
