BC Student-Athletes Continue to Raise the Bar
Collin

The BC athletic department had numerous highlights over the winter and spring seasons! Below are highlights from the past few months:

  • Senior Wrestler Collin "Scooter" Willet advanced to the state tournament in wrestling after winning the district title. From Coach Grove, “In March, Collin reached the coveted Ohio High School State Wrestling Tournament, being only one of 16 wrestlers at 190 pounds. Collin, you have reached goals we set and have accomplished a lot. We will miss you! You are a Bulldog for life!”

  • Claire Loeffler broke the 100 breaststroke and 200 and 500 freestyle records. In addition, the 400 freestyle relay composed of Claire Loeffler, Mia Petty, Olivia Martin and Sydney DiSalvo now hold the school record that was previously set in 1998.  From Coach Wentz  "The relay team has worked diligently throughout the season on their own personal speed, but also on exchanges and bonding of the team to ensure success."

  • Basketball player Emily Bratton won numerous Player of the Year honors, including the Central District and Lancaster Eagle Gazette, and was named 1st team D2 All-Ohio. Emily scored her 1000th point of her career this season. From Coach Ireland: "Emily Bratton has been an absolute joy to coach. She is a true student of the game and always looking for ways to better herself. Such a hard worker and leads by example! She is a true competitor and is always looking to do what it takes to win. Emily is not only a great basketball player, but she is also a great leader, great student, and great community member. No doubt Emily had a great Junior season, looking forward to a great senior season to round out an incredible career!"

  • Senior Dylan Chittum broke the MSL Shot Put record with a throw of 59'1/4" at the MSL meet. He was also the MSL Discus Champion with a PR of 160'9". He holds the school record in both events. From Coach Miller: Dylan's had an amazing year so far! He has continuously worked hard to have the success he's had this year. Dylan has big goals and those goals are achievable! Dylan knows he's not done yet, so the work does not stop.

  • Senior tennis standout Collin LaVeck won MSL Player of the Year.  From Coach Rowland: Collin is every high school coach's dream player. He shows up every day with a smile on his face and is ready to compete. Great student. Great athlete. Great character.

  • The baseball team won the MSL championship and has a current record of 24-2. Congratulations to Baseball Coach Jason Vest who achieved his 300th career win with a victory over Canal Winchester.
