BCHS Class of 2020 Senior Send-Off Celebration
Senior Send Off

Families,

We again want to thank all students and families for their support, understanding and flexibility.  It has been extremely difficult knowing that our school year without students in the building has come to an end due to the social distancing orders.  We are extremely proud of how our students have handled the situation and responded to the adversity in their lives.

Determining the appropriate ways to honor our graduating class of 2020 has been one of the top priorities for our school district over the past several weeks.  We appreciate the input and ideas shared with us, helping us develop the best opportunities for our Senior students. While we are disappointed that our traditional commencement ceremonies cannot be held due to COVID-19, the thoughtful innovation and care with which our staff members and community partners have come together has been inspirational. A big thanks to all of the individuals and organizations who are continuing to work behind the scenes to make the 2020 graduation celebration truly special. This year’s graduation will be a hybrid of a virtual graduation ceremony and Senior Send-Off Celebration.

Please see the details below outlining the events planned:

We know that this is not the graduation ceremony that any of us had envisioned, but we feel strongly that our plans will give the students the celebration they deserve while keeping everyone safe. We truly appreciate the support that has been given to our students, staff, and myself during this difficult time.

Proud to be Bulldogs!

Senior Send-Off Celebration -May 24th:

Bloom-Carroll High School is hosting a drive-thru diploma procession for the class of 2020.

Students will check-in and line-up based on designated alphabetical times in their vehicles in the back parking lot of BCHS (Parking lot entrance by Plum Road only). Vehicles will be directed through a designated route to the front of the high school for the diploma distribution portion of the ceremony. Seniors will then get out of their cars, walk across the stage as their name, scholarship announcements and future plans are being read, and receive their diplomas. Cassie Palsgrove Photography (cassiepalsgrove.com/bc2020) will then, take the Senior’s professional photo as they exit the stage, holding their diploma. From there, students will return to their vehicles and exit the high school parking lot.  As a special gift and recognition, all students will receive a graduation lawn sign as they exit onto Beaver street.

Finally, students and families are encouraged to drive through a designated route through the streets of Carroll where we urge friends, family and community members to “Line the Streets of Carroll” to celebrate as graduates leave with their diplomas.

*Parents and family members are allowed to ride in the same vehicle with their students. There is a limit of one vehicle per graduate. Seniors should be in their cap and gown and should be the passenger of the vehicle so they can be ready to walk across the stage.

*We encourage families to remain in their vehicles during the ceremony procession. This is essential for the safety of our students, staff and board members.

*Seniors and their families can decorate their cars and will be applauded along the route as they drive by staff lined safely along the sidewalks of the schools.

*Social distancing protocols will be enforced in this drive-thru only event.  The school campus remains closed to all groups and gatherings in compliance with Ohio’s School Closure order-please see attachment.

*Graduation photos will be available for purchase from Cassie Palsgrove Photography (cassiepalsgrove.com/bc2020).

*Beaver St. will be closed to traffic at 1:30pm-Only Student vehicles will use Beaver St. once they receive their diplomas.
