There are several important tasks needing to take place at the end of a school year to allow us to prepare classrooms and buildings for the next school year.
Most students have personal belongings stored in desks/cubbies/lockers. During the summer, classrooms are emptied of all furniture and they are thoroughly cleaned. Leaving these items at school will make cleaning our buildings properly very difficult and may result in lost personal items.
Textbooks, library books, and possibly a school borrowed Chromebook need to be returned and inventoried to ensure we have an adequate amount to start the next school year. Accounting for school owned resources is necessary to make certain we are fiscally responsible with our taxpayers’ dollars as we look at the future purchasing needs of the District.
We will be providing dates and times for a parent and/or the student to visit our buildings to return school issued items and collect their personal belongings. This will be done implementing safety measures recommended by health professionals which include the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as facial coverings or gloves; Social Distancing, limiting occupants in a building and classroom at one time, and practicing effective personal hygiene measures to stop the spread of infectious diseases. We highly enouraged everyone to wear a facial covering and gloves while in the building. We also ask you to take your temperature before coming to the building. If your temperature is above 99, please do not come to the buildings.
The dates and times provided below to collect personal belongings and return school items allow District officials the ability to effectively manage the number of occupants in the building/classrooms while also providing flexible options for our families:
