Superior Rating at State Band Finals
Band

Each year, the top high school musicians from around the state submit audition materials for the All-State ensembles representing the most outstanding musicians in the state of Ohio. For the first time in school history, Bloom-Carroll had two representatives at the ensembles.

Kennedy Brehm (clarinetist) will be performing in the All-State Band and Emily Swope (percussionist) will be performing in the All-State Orchestra. They will perform at the 2023 OMEA Professional Conference in February 2023.

On the jazz end of our instrumental music department, Brison Herman (tenor saxophonist) auditioned and was accepted into the Columbus Youth Jazz Orchestra featuring the best high school jazz musicians in central Ohio. Brison’s first performance was on Sunday, October 16th at the Southern Theatre in Columbus as they opened for the award-winning Columbus Jazz Orchestra!

Our Marching Bulldogs had another very successful competitive marching band season. The Bulldogs earned Superior ratings in 4 of their 5 contests including a “Superior” rating at last Saturday’s OMEA State Marching Band Finals.

This was only the 6th time in over 40 years and the 4th time in the last 9 years that the Bulldogs have earned this honor with the last time being the 2021 show; “Haunted Treasure”.   Way to go Bulldogs!
