BCLSD UPDATED Closure Orders & Plans

Dear BC Staff and Families:

Thank you for your understanding, patience, and flexibility with the rapidly evolving situation involving the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). We are all in this together and it has placed all of us in unchartered waters. Governor DeWine and the Ohio Department of Health issued an executive order closing all K-12 public schools through May 1st.

We will be canceling all activities, including athletics, until further notice during the closure. The school closure also includes the use of our school buildings by non-school affiliate groups.

The District will be utilizing online lessons by posting assignments on our website (Grades K-4) and through Schoology (Grades 5-12), the District’s learning management system.

The challenges associated with the long-term school closure are abundant and unprecedented for our students, families, and staff. This situation is unfortunate; however, our students, staff, and community are resilient. We will get through this difficult time together. I am humbled and thankful every single day that I get the opportunity to work for the students of the Bloom-Carroll Local School District - even in these unbelievably challenging moments.

We will provide additional communication as events unfold.

Please contact your child’s school with additional questions.

Respectfully,

Shawn Haughn
Superintendent
