Former Congressman Steve Stivers visited Mrs. Smith's and Mrs. Sohrenssen's 4th grade classrooms this morning to explain how a bill becomes a law and to share his experience as a congressman in Washington, DC.
As part of today's lesson, students decided to submit a bill to lower the current gas prices. Students decided on this issue as a class because they wanted to help their parents with the high prices.
Mr. Stivers divided students into the House and the Senate with committees. After approval from both sides, President Cheryl Sony signed the bill into law.
Great job by all! ~ And thank you Mr. Stivers for stopping by BC Elementary School this morning to speak with our students.
