Principal's Message

Dear Students and Families

Welcome Back! I would like to officially welcome new and returning families to Bloom Carroll High School. This will be my first year as principal of Bloom Carroll High School, and I am excited at the opportunity to get to know all of you as we engage in the high school experience together. I am truly honored and privileged to be working with our dedicated staff to provide the best possible educational experience for our students both inside and outside the classrooms. My wife Joey (6th grade English teacher at BCMS) and three kids (Owen-12, Charlie-11 and Nicholas-10) live in the district and understand the traditions of the schools and community and how special it is to be a part of the BC family.   This will be my 20th year in education as a teacher, coach, and as an administrator.  I attended The Ohio State University and Ohio University for my undergraduate degree and I earned my master's degree, principal and superintendent license from the University of Dayton.

During the 2017-18 school year, we will continue to build upon and refine our proven foundation of good work, honored traditions, and continued excellence in education. As we continue to support our mission of Building Character and Honoring Success, we want to provide the best academic instruction and outstanding extra-curricular opportunities to assist in the development of our students to be college and career ready once they graduate from BCHS.

As we inch closer to August 16 and the start of the new school year our building staff has done a tremendous job preparing the building.  We want to thank our maintenance staff for providing the students, staff and community with a clean and safe educational environment. Also, in order to stay cool and comfortable in the classroom we have added additional classroom air conditioning units, we now have nearly two-thirds of the building air conditionedJ. Our technology staff has updated our district website ( and continue to increase the amount of desktop and mobile devices for our students and their ever changing 21st century learning skills. Finally, our teaching staff is constantly improving and developing instructional strategies to increase student achievement in the classroom.

Please make note of a few important dates listed below:

  • Wednesday, August 16 – First day of School - start time is 7:30 a.m.

  • Wednesday, September 13 - BCHS Open House, 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
