BCPS Hosts Annual Veterans Day Assembly

On Friday November 9th, the primary students and staff congregated in the middle school auditorium for their annual Veterans Day assembly. The event kicked off with a “Parade of Heroes” that included students and their special Veteran being escorted across the stage during the opening ceremony. Over 110 Veterans participated in this year’s event.

The student-led assembly consisted of kindergarten speakers leading everyone in the Pledge of Allegiance and grade-level representatives from each class reciting poems and sharing a message on “Why Veterans are so important.”

Mrs. Sony, art teacher for BC, created a touching video that was shared showcasing pictures of our Veterans, as well as video clips of students sharing messages about the importance of Veterans. Miss Hatch, music teacher at BC, led the students in the conclusion of the assembly with the entire student body waving flags and singing “You’re a Grand Ole Flag.”

This is truly a special event for our school community and we are thankful that we can take the time to honor these special men and women.
